CHITRAL: A Police Command and Control Center has been opened in the district of Lower Chitral.
The center was inaugurated by District Police Officer Nasir Mehmood on Friday, according to a police statement.
At the Command and Control Center, over 90 cameras from public have been integrated with the system. The object of the initiative is to provide 24/7 surveillance to business centers, sensitive installations, entry/exit points, to maintain law and order situation and prevention of crime.
What makes the system standout is it is a joint initiative of Chitral public and police on self-help basis. The system covers area of Chitral city, Drosh, Garam Chasha and Ayun.
Currently, Bumburate valley has been surveyed for installation of cameras for remote monitoring. The system has 15 helpline and wireless control connectivity with police control and FC control for effective response mechanism.

It is expected that implementation of the command and control system will go a long way in maintenance of peace and tranquility in the district,\” said the DPO.
